Squeak 1.20 This directory contains Squeak 1.2 for Win32 (Windows 95 and Windows NT) and Macintosh (System 7.x, 680xx and PowerPC). The following two files are common to all platforms: Squeak1.2.image Squeak1.2.changes In addition, you need the appropriate virtual machine executable for your platform, either: Squeak_VM_1.20.bin (Macintosh (stored as a MacBinary file)) or squeak120.exe (Win32) The image, changes file, and VM for each platform is stored in a compressed archive named: MacSqueak120.sit (Mac StuffIt Archive) WinSqueak120.zip (Windows ZipIt Archive) Finally, if this is the first time youÕve retrieved Squeak, you will also need the file SqueakV1.sources. This file did not change for this release. Be sure to transfer all files (even the .changes and .sources files) using the binary mode of FTP. When you start the image, youÕll find a window containing notes about the new features of this release. The image also includes all the source code for the Squeak virtual machine, the Smalltalk-to-C translator that converts this code into C, and the small amount of additional platform-specific C code needed to build the virtual machine for the Mac. The Windows specific C files may be found at: ftp:\\ftp.cs.uni-magdeburg.de/pub/Smalltalk/free/squeak/win32/src These files are from Andreas RaabÕs port of Squeak 1.19.
